Invitational Western Art Show

• Begin the weekend with a western art show. Hamley’s will host “IN THE COMPANY OF COWGIRLS”.. This show features only  Oregon women artists. Listed as an 'Oregon 150' event, It opens Thursday, May 7^th at 1 pm, with an artists reception from 6-9pm, in the Cattle Baron’s Room at Hamley’s Steakhouse.  You will have an opportunity to meet many of the artists and envision the Cowgirl experience through their Art. The Art viewing will be daily from 9 am to 9 pm.

• Friday afternoon at 3:00 pm, the geldings that are invited to take part in the WESTERN CLASSICS GELDING SALE will 'show their stuff' in a performance preview. This will happen at the Pendleton Roundup Pavilion. See the select horses perform in cutting, roping, reining and more.

• Get “Western” with THE SALOON CRAWL on Friday night. There will be special libations, entertainment and activities in many of Pendleton’s liveliest Saloons. A fun commemorative T-shirt will serve as your ticket.

• Saturday will offer something fun for everyone! It all happens downtown from 9 am to 1 pm on Main St.; preview the 'select geldings' being offered for sale; visit the Artisan’s Village in the patio area of Hamley’s Steakhouse; enjoy the Dutch Oven Showoff with sample plates available or the East Oregonian’s Little Buckaroo’s photo contest for ages, newborn - 12, plus pony rides and lots of kids events!

• At 2 pm, the action moves from Main Street , to the Pendleton Roundup Pavilion, for the Cattle Barons Stock Saddle Bronc Riding. Ranch cowboys compete in this original old west cowboy sport. A performance preview of 25 of the 'best horses in the Northwest' will follow. The Western CLASSICs Gelding Sale is the premier horse sale in the Western United States .   Pat Beard of the Auction committee says that, "This is the best group of geldings I have ever seen offered for sale in one place. There are horses for every interest, from roping and cutting, to ranch horses and recreational riding horses. We have great horsemen from 6 states bringing horses. The horses will be sound and well broke. If you need a good gelding this is place to find one."

• Finish the weekend at the Cattleman’s Street dance on Main Street between the 'Rainbow' and Hamley’s Steakhouse. The  band starts at 9 p.m. and there is no charge!  Bring your neighbors suffering from 'cabin fever,' along with your mother and her friends  to help celebrate Pendleton’s western heritage.
